Timber Knee Rail Installation – Delamere Project

Almec Fencing recently completed the supply and installation of timber knee rail fencing throughout a new residential and leisure development in the heart of Delamere, Cheshire.

The knee rail system was installed to subtly demarcate public footpaths, landscaped boundaries, and waterway edges—providing safety and structure without compromising the natural beauty of the area.

Scope of Work:

  • Supply and installation of treated timber knee rail fencing.

  • Secure steel bracket fixings for long-term durability.

  • Installation over a variety of terrains including play areas, paths, and wetland edges.

  • Collaboration with developers and landscaping teams to align with the site’s overall design vision.

Why Knee Rail Fencing?

Knee rail fencing is ideal for areas where low-level boundary control is needed without the visual intrusion of traditional fencing. It guides foot traffic, protects soft landscaping, and defines safe zones—especially in shared public spaces like parks, nature reserves, and residential greenways.

Outcome:

The completed installation delivers both practical function and clean aesthetics. The treated timber finish blends beautifully with the surrounding natural woodland and newly developed green space, creating a seamless transition between residential infrastructure and nature.
